What is the ECHIPS all about?
The ECHIPS is an acronym for "Exhibition and Competition for Hoisting of Innovative Projects and Skills" for Colleges of Education students in Nigeria with innovative tech projects and skills. It is organised by the Colleges of Education Department, Federal Ministry of Education, Nigeria, to recognize, reward and encourage creativity and innovation among teacher trainees especially in the aspects of technology.
What are the categories of eligible projects?
The exhibition and competition covers aspects of innovation and creativity in Artificial intelligence, robotics, educational technology, software development, hardware development, scientific innovations and other cutting edge technologies.
How do I submit my entry?
To submit your entry, visit the "Register" page on the website and click on "Register" button. Fill out the entry form and upload your project. Click on the "Submit" button to complete your submission.
What is the deadline for submissions?
The deadline for submission of entries has passed.
What are the prizes?
Participants at the zonal levels will receive certificates of participation and other exciting prizes, while the best projects at the zonal levels will be invited to Abuja to compete again for the grand prizes. Winners at the national level will receive certificate of recognition and other exciting prizes.
Can I submit my entry as part of a group?
Yes, you can submit your entry as an individual or group project. However, all members of the group must be undergraduate students in a College of Education in Nigeria and meet other eligibility requirements.
What format should my project be in?
Your project submission can be in any format, however, pictures or videos of the project is compulsory for submission. A written document, excel sheet, power presentation or other supporting documents are also acceptable. You should make sure that your project is well-documented for ease of understanding by the judges.
Who are the judges?
The judges are a panel of experts from various fields of Education, Technology, and Business.
When will the winners be announced?
The best projects will be announced at the zonal events and invited to compete at the national level where winners will be announced at the grand finale of the competition, which will be held in Abuja on [date to be announced].
Can I present the same project twice?
Yes, the same project submitted at the zonal level is what will be exhibited at the national level. If selected one of the winning projects at the zonal level, every participant have the opportunity to make improvements to their projects before the grand finale to further improve their chances of taking home the grand prize.
Must I inform the school authority of my participation?
YES. it is compulsory for management to be aware and fully involved in your participation. Your project must have a supervisor or the management of the Institution will appoint a Staff as supervisor for your project
